Maroochydore Revitalisation Association

The businesses of the MRA are embarking on a bold plan to bring the Old Town Centre of Maroochydore to life. We want to hear from the community. http://www.mrainc.com.au/

The Maroochydore Revitalisation Association incorporated itself on Monday the 12th of November 2012 and established a mandate to revitalise the traditional town centre of Maroochydore. The Committee James Birrell (President), Joseph Riba (Secretary), Ian Buschome (Treasurer),

To Rejuvenate Ocean Street and Duporth Avenue
To Create an Authentic Identity for the Precinct
To Develop a Sustainable Local Economy
To Promote an Authentic and Culturally Rich Precinct
To Represent all Stakeholders of the Precinct.
The association has highlighted a Business and Community Improvement District. The district boundary has been determined by identifying properties that focus their use in and around First Avenue, Duporth Avenue and Ocean Street.

For over a decade our area has been in a state of uncertainty as a result of the Horton Park Redevelopment and the ongoing issues of the Big Top Shopping Centre. We want to create a place for people, a meaningful place where people can enrich their lives through authentic experiences.

We already have a strong local community we just haven't had a unified voice before, we have expected others to build our community for us. I think that we all agree that it is us who should take control of the future of our precinct and empowering ourselves to work together to create a future that we are proud of is a very exciting process.
